Hollow Lantern
Hollow Lantern is atmosphere in game form. You wander a quiet, fog-wrapped town relighting old lamps, and each one you spark reveals a little more of the story hidden in the shadows. There's no combat and barely any UI — just you, a lantern, and a lot of gentle mystery.
The controls are pared right back: tap to move, tap to interact, occasionally swipe to reveal a hidden path. It's the sort of game you play with headphones on and the brightness turned up, letting it breathe. Because it's so visually restrained, battery life is excellent — we barely dented the meter over a long evening session.
We finished it in a couple of sittings and immediately wanted to start again to catch what we missed. If you want something calm and beautiful rather than twitchy, Hollow Lantern is a small treasure.
