Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of mobile RPG you don't expect to swallow an entire weekend, and then it does. You play a reluctant scout dragged into a war between crumbling kingdoms, and the writing is genuinely good — characters remember things you said hours ago and react accordingly. The turn-based battles are readable and quick, which matters a lot on a small screen.
The touch interface is thoughtful. Actions live along the bottom edge where your thumbs naturally sit, and there's an auto-battle toggle for the grindier fights when you just want to level up while half-watching a show. We turned the graphics down a notch on the older phone and it still looked lovely thanks to the flat, illustrated art style.
Battery is the one caveat — long dungeon runs get warm and hungry, so keep a charger nearby for marathon sessions. Otherwise this is a standout, especially if you miss proper story-driven RPGs that aren't constantly nagging you to come back.
